Information Dominance
Transforming data and networks into decision advantage across contested environments.
Collect, protect, process, integrate and act.
Information Dominance is the ability to collect, protect, process, integrate and act on data faster and more effectively than an adversary. In modern national security operations, advantage increasingly depends on the ability to turn distributed information into decision superiority across space, cyber, electronic warfare, intelligence and multi-domain operations. As missions become more data-intensive, the limiting factor is often not collection alone, but the speed and confidence with which information can be converted into action.
Requires both technical depth & mission understanding
This focus area includes artificial intelligence, cyber operations, electronic warfare, secure data environments, multi-domain data fusion, autonomy, decision support and resilient communications. It is especially important in contested environments where data may be incomplete, degraded, manipulated, denied or time-sensitive. Effective information dominance requires both technical depth and mission understanding, linking algorithms, networks, sensors, operators and decision-makers into trusted operational workflows.
Info Dominance as a cross-cutting enabler
Information Dominance is both a stand-alone opportunity area and an enabler of Space, Optics and Hypersonics. Space systems generate data that must be processed and fused. Optical sensing produces high-volume information streams. Hypersonics requires rapid modeling, tracking, simulation and decision support. KINS supports this domain by aligning university expertise with federal mission needs, building partnerships with government and industry and enabling secure program structures for sensitive research.
Our emphasis stays on applied outcomes: faster understanding, better protection of information, improved integration across domains and more reliable decisions in contested environments.
